Sophie's Clean Sponsor Spotlight Review

I found a lovely new site called Sophie Clean that I would love to tell you about today because she was so warm and friendly and makes natural/organic products for women and their babies. Here are the (3) items she sent me to review:

1. Oatmeal Lavender Goat's Milk (above)
2. Orange Bergamot Bath Salt
3. Episencial Sunny Sunscreen

By now, I bet most of you know that I absolutely love Lavender in just about everything! After this one, I will try to experiment more with different scents because I know not everyone is gonna like Lavender. But, let's talk about the Oatmeal Lavender Goat's Milk bar of soap I received from her. It is 100% natural ingredients that include Poppy seed and citrus soap with an aggressive texture that removes dead skin cells. I wonder if she got the name True Grit from John Wayne's character in the cowboy movies he used to make? I would think that the poppy seeds is what gives it the gritty feel and makes for a great exfoliator. She makes 5 scents for the bars of soap:

There is a non-scented, citrus, matcha green tea and oatmeal, lavender oatmeal, and one called true grit. Which is the one we just talked about in the above paragraph. I am not sure if I have ever smelled a green tea soap. Mmm, may have to give that one some thought. I have heard that green tea is good for you inside and out, so why not try it?

Now, the Orange Bergamot Bath Salts, is a nice mixture of oranges and bergamot and she says both men and women love it equally. My hubby hasn't said one way or the other, but then, he isn't into that at all, so I gave some to my best friend Lynette to try and she loved it! I used it to soak my feet in prior to giving myself a pedicure. Although, I cannot sit in a bath tub with the salts because of my bladder condition, I have a tiled bench in my shower stall so I will sit there and take the bath salts and just go all over my body. I use it as an exfoliator for the whole body and as a pedicure treatment, too! Lynette was able to use it in the bath tub and she said her skin was so smooth afterwards.

Here is what Sophie Clean says about their bath salt:
Made with three salts, clay and essential oils, these salts are a treat to soak in. Absolutely no fillers or chemicals. People always ask us why the salts smell so great!? The answer is just in time making. The salts are handmade. And unlike others, we do not sit on a huge inventory and store them for months, we only order them on an "as needed" basis bringing them straight to you as fresh as can be! Plus, you will see that a little goes a very long way in your bath tub.

Lastly, let's talk about the Episencial Sunny Sunscreen, which I am gonna have to shorten to something because that is a mouthful to say! Now, here is something I did not know, which my daughter is well into her 20's so I don't remember us doing much sun activities, but they are saying until your baby is at least 6 months old, do not subject them to the sun's harming rays. After that, please, start using some protection for them because it is vital that they start off on the right foot in life.

Episencial Sunny Sunscreen SPF 35 is a doctor recommended natural baby sunscreen. Also, I found out that their Sunny Sunscreen SPF 35 is part of an elite group awarded the EWG sunscreen ratings for effectiveness as well as a top safety rating for natural baby sunscreen. If you are really serious about protecting your baby/child then at least listen to their advice: Sunscreen needs to be reapplied every 2 hours. An SPF of more than 35 adds close to zero protective value, and is usually chalky white, sticky, hard to apply and can be overly expensive.

Now see, I would have thought the higher number is what everyone is striving to use but I guess in babies/children, it is too much? Which I would imagine SPF 35 is no laughing matter. That is still pretty good protection. But the best protection would be to not let them outdoors for long periods of time a that age. When they get 3 to 5 I would start letting them stay out longer so that they can enjoy just being a child!

Sophie Clean has several other products for both Mom and baby, so take a look around and see if anything else makes you think it would be good for you or your child. They have organic soaps for baby, bubble baths, body washes and an organic baby bird soap! Now, that is a novelty. Check it out:
How in the heck did they get that bird print on that soap? I wonder the craziest things sometimes, but it is interesting and different. According to Sophie Clean, this gentle castile soap is made from the saponified oils of organic coconut oil, olive oil, and palm oil. Soothing aloe and the light scent of lavender essential oil complete the gentle bath time experience. Sounds like Lavender is a good thing for babies, too! I bet it helps relax them and makes them feel safe.
