I have a really wonderful romance story that is also a lesson in life that you will enjoy reading. It will make you believe in taking chances on love and seeing what happens when you do.

Kate Donovan is burned out on work, worn down by her dating relationships, and in need of an adventure. When her grandmother asks her to accompany her to Redbud, Pennsylvania, to restore the grand old house she grew up in, Kate jumps at the chance.

Upon her arrival in Redbud, Kate meets Matt Jarreau, the man hired to renovate the house. Kate can't help being attracted to him, drawn by both his good looks and something else she can't quite put her finger on. He's clearly wounded--hiding from people, from God, and from his past. Kate sets her stubborn heart on bringing him out of the dark and back into the light...whether he likes it or not.

When the stilted, uncomfortable interactions between Kate and Matt slowly shift into something more, is God finally answering the longing of her heart? Or will Kate be required to give up more than she ever dreamed?

Kate is 31, single and a social worker in Dallas when her 76 year old grandmother asks her to come and help her restore the 1820's home that she was raised in which looks like a brown & beige stone house that is straight out of the English Countryside. It needs alot of work so they hire Matt Jarreau who is an ex-hockey player who gave up his career after his wife died of brain cancer.

Kate sees the hurt in his eyes and is determined to help him. Her grandmother has her old group of friends over all the time and they all get together to work out a plan to get Kate and Matt together. Kate is determined to break the ice and let him know that God is still there for him. Matt wants nothing to do with God since his wife's death. She keeps asking him over for dinner and finally, one night he agrees. Gran decides she is going to teach him to cook.

As the story goes on Kate realizes that Matt really needs to get back into hockey and her and Gran need to get back to Dallas for the holidays. Kate goes back to work and she misses Matt every day. Matt realizes he misses her, too and asks God to forgive him.

I am not going to tell you how it ends so that you will want to read the book. It really is a nice story and I hope it inspires you to read it. Happy Reading!
