Madison Street Beauty Mineral Makeup Sponsor Spotlight Review

Bridget & Rhys from Madison Street Beauty made sure I had enough products to review, don't you think? Wow, when I opened the package I was astonished at the amount of makeup that was in there! Here is what they sent me to review:

1. Black Orchid Eye Shadow
2. Bare Coral Eye Shadow
3. Antique Rose Eye Shadow
4. 100% Vegan and Natural Lip Balm
5. Peony Blush
6. Pale Peach Blush
7. Sheer Glow Highlighter
8. Highlighter Sample
9. Aloe Setting Powder
Bridget suggested using a wet eye liner brush to apply the liner in a separate container and also a primer to keep it from transferring. For one, I would never wear black eye shadow and I think she sent it to me to use as an eyeliner, which I did and it was very nice and natural looking without looking like a made up clown. I appreciated her sending me that suggestion or the Black Orchid would never have been used.

Next, let's try the Antique Rose eye shadow. Now, here is a light nice cool color that you could make dark or so light that it looks like you have twinkles on your lids when the sun hits them. I really loved this color because it added a touch of glow but not so much that I looked made up. I think you are finally getting the gist of it all, I hope. I like for my makeup to make me look natural with a slight glow. I want people to wonder do I or don't I have anything on? I love being the buzz in the room, don't you, sometimes? It looks darker here but when you actually get it and work with it some you can make it lighter.

Here's a trick I did all on my own and maybe some high tech makeup guru for one of the movie stars already knows this but I didn't and I am so happy that I figured something out on my own. To make this or any other mineral eye shadow lighter if it does go on really dark or you made a mistake and put too much on, take some of your Aloe Setting Powder or even the Highligter Sample and go over your eye shadow one or two times and it will settle it down and come out looking shimmery, which actually I found out is a good thing because when light or the sun hits that shimmery stuff it bounces back off of you and people only notice how pretty your eyes are, not the crow's feet or if your eyebrows are not perfectly made up! I am such a genius!

Another color they sent was the Bare Coral, which I really loved because it was already light so I just barely mixed a tiny bit of the Pale Peach Blush with it to really make it pop! Experiment, girls! It really is alot of fun, even when it looks awful, just laugh and continue on.

If you are a golden haired girl or have golden colored skin or suntan alot, this eye shadow would be perfect for you! It would just add to the mystic of being a goddess, and don't let anyone tell you different! Each and everyone of us is special and unique in our own way and it is nobody's business to tell you what you look like, unless you ask them. Otherwise, they need to keep their mouth's shut. My Mom always used to say, if you don't have anything good to say then don't say anything. Too bad we did not listen to our Mother's too well, especially politicians!

Let's move on to the blushes where I really had the most fun! Again, here is where I would use the Aloe Setting Powder or the Highlighter if I felt the blush was too dark. Let's start with the Pale Peach first:
This one was so light by itself that I did not need to do anything except to lightly brush on the Aloe Setting Powder and I was just about done for the day. I don't think there would be too many people out there that are lighter than I am but just in case, us the highlighting trick first and then the Aloe Setting Powder. I also had a sample of the Peony Blush but for some reason there was no picture of it on the samples pages to look at. It is darker than the Pale Peach so you might have to use the Highlighter and the Aloe Setting Powder to lighten it up just a tad.

The one above is called Sheer Glow Highlighter and if you want to skip the two steps I just described, then this would be the one I would use as a blush and a highlighter. It has everything you need to give your face a fresh youthful glow without creasing into your wrinkles or other imperfections. The Aloe Setting Powder would just add a touch of glimmer. Out of all of the blushes and Highlighters, this was my favorite!

This is the Highlighter Sample and can be used all over your face for that extra whoomph power if you are going out on the town and want to really show off how shiny new and sexy you are, this will definitely get you noticed! This is what Bridget says about this highlighter:
Handmade mineral highlighter. All-natural, vegan and artisan crafted. Our highlighter was created to feel weightless, not clog pores or irritate skin, and last all day long.
Lastly, you have the Aloe Setting Powder! This is such a wonderful tool to have because it can fix just about anything from mistakes you made, or makeup that is too loud, or for touch ups when your other makeups tend to run when they get hot in the summer. I love having one single item that I could carry in my purse that would fix just about anything and that would be the Aloe Setting Powder. It is handmade with aloe powder to soothe, even out skin tone, and calm redness. When it is applied over your mineral foundation, this setting powder makes your foundation last all day and night. This sheer powder is not only great to wear over foundation but can be worn alone to provide minimal coverage and light UV protection.
And what would we do without our lip balm? She has lots of different flavors but I got the plain one which is fine. Sometimes, the flavored ones can turn on you in a second if you don't feel good. But, when I am feeling good I would have loved any of the ones that had lavender in them! I bet those tasted and smelled divine! They also have a tinted one with a sheer raspberry flavor that I bet would have been just as awesome along with the one other flavored one called Mango Lassi! They both sound so awesome!
ALERT: They are having a summer vacation sale right now and everything in the store is 60% off! For instance the Mango Lassi I just mentioned normally runs $5.99 and now you can get it for $2.40. BUT, that is not the only Good News I have. She has given me a gift code to be used by all of us to get 50% off of our order! This is for first time buyers only and the code is "cupoftea". The only thing I am not sure of is if this 50% off works in conjunction with the sale.I could not get ahold of her yesterday to confirm since it's the weekend, so it may not work. I can't wait until tomorrow to hold off on this review because the giveaway starts at midnight tonight. So, I am going to go ahead and publish and just warn you that the 50% coupon may or may not work on the sale items. I will let you know as soon as she gets back with me.
Madison Street Beauty has been kind enough to offer the winner of the Avoiding April Showers Giveaway that starts on the 16th and ends on the 30th, some of the same makeup that I reviewed. The winner will get 6 products. The only ones that will not be included is the lip balm and the two eyeshadows called Antique Rose and Bare Coral. You will get the Black Orchid. I have never tried mineral makeup but I love lip balm, I don't use much lipstick but I always put on lip balm with some SPF to protect my lips from the harsh rays of the sun. I wear eye makeup sometimes and prefer dark colors, so I would love to try their Black Orchid Eye Shadow; I would use it as a shawdow when I decide to use shawdow and eyeliner on other days.
