Coconut World Sponsor Spotlight Review

Have you ever tried coconut sugar to sweeten with before? If you haven't, then you are in for a treat. I did not even know that coconut sugar even existed until a few months ago when I reviewed some for another company. I got this coconut sugar from Coconut World. I did not know this but in some countries, the coconut tree is considered the "Tree of Life"! Amazing what you learn when you just stop to read a little. It provides an endless list of by-products, from its roots to its leaves, culinary and non-culinary, that are used to sustain lives and livelihoods.

All I know for sure is that when used in my hot tea to sweeten it, as far as I can tell, there is no difference in taste. I even baked a coconut dessert cake a few weeks back using coconut sugar instead of regular sugar and I can tell you that it certainly added an extra WOW to the flavor. I have not tried anything else with it because shortly after I received the coconut sugar I found out that it is high in potassium. Well, you guys know what that means. My bladder condition is aggravated by potassium so I have to limit how much I take in. I was quite bummed about it but I gave it to my best friend and neighbor to use so she could report back to me how well she liked it and how was she using it and what did other members of her family think?

She loved it! She said the only thing she found that did not go well with coconut sugar was coffee. She said it changed the flavor and she did not care for it. But she did try it in the hot tea and like me, loved it! Not sure why it would taste good in hot tea but not coffee, but, sometimes things just don't go together. I certainly would not put ketchup on my eggs but some people like it that way! We all have different tastes and dislikes and it would be a boring world if we all liked the same thing. She said it was really good in her coconut cake with the whipped cream & sour cream icing. She added some of the coconut sugar and real coconut flakes to the icing and she said her family went nuts over it! I did taste some of it also and have to agree, it was so darn good!! Good thing I could only have a little or I would have ate the whole darn cake! You can get some recipes using coconut sugar off of Coconut World's website.

Here is what Coconut World says about their sugar:
Our first culinary treat is 100% All-Natural Coconut Sugar, made from the sap of the unopened flowerbud stalks. It has a distinct sweet aroma and a pleasing, light caramel flavor. This delectable sweetener is considered a healthy alternative to cane sugar due to a low glycemic index. It is also naturally rich in minerals.

Coconut World is dedicated to bringing you 100% pure coconut sugar and other superfoods, naturally produced by coconut farmers from around the world. We consider ourselves a partner with our suppliers, and trade directly with farmers allowing them to capture a greater share of the market value.
Coconut sugar is darker than regular sugar and almost looks like brown sugar but the granules are different and small smaller. Plus the taste would give it away immediately. Whereas brown sugar sticks together and can get lumpy, coconut sugar stays loose just like white sugar.

This is how Coconut World makes it's coconut sugar:
Coconut sugar is one of nature's best sweeteners. Farmers collect tree sap from the stalk of the unopened flower buds and boil it. As it cools, it granulates. The result is an aromatic sugar that looks and acts very much like brown sugar. Its pleasing delicious flavor sets it apart from cane sugars, stevia, agave syrup, and artificial sweeteners. Use it in sauces, meat rubs, and exotic dishes. It is great for baking, especially desserts. It complements fruit and, our favorite, chocolate. It dissolves easily and is perfect to sprinkle on oatmeal and to sweeten hot and cold beverages.

The cultivation of coconut trees (cocos nucifera) is highly sustainable due to their great ecological tolerance and benefit to the surrounding land. The tree grows naturally in the coconut belt using very little water and soil nutrients. No pesticides are necessary and intercropping is easy. They help stabilize erosion-prone areas because of their widespread deep roots. Coconut trees have can live up to 100 yrs, 60 of those being fruit-bearing years. It is a tree that provides year-round sustenance for the communities around them, the only hazard being underneath when a coconut drops!

Coconut World's 100% All-Natural Coconut Sugar is made with no preservatives or additives. No pesticides are used in the growing of coconut trees. We guarantee its purity and its premium quality.
