Xtrema Open Skillet Sponsor Spotlight Review

I am so excited that I was able to review this great skillet from Xtrema to tell all of you about it. I have wanted one of these for a long time and tried several times to win it to no avail. This is what they call an open 10" skillet. I put the YouTube video up because it looked like it would be able to show and tell you about some things I have missed. Here is what my skillet looked like:
These are the features of the Xtrema Open Skillet:

**10” Diameter: Perfect for cooking multiple servings and ingredient-heavy dishes.
**3.5 lbs: Easy to handle with rugged durability for everyday use.
**Cool-to-the-Touch Handle: Designed for ultimate comfort during transfer.
**High-gloss Finish: Featuring a non-toxic ceramic glaze with high-gloss, scratch-proof black finish.
**Dishwasher and Microwaveable Safe: For the most convenient cooking experience.

I loved that I had a scratch proof skillet because I have a husband who does not watch what he is doing most of the time when cooking. You have no idea how many pots and pans he has ruined by scraping the sides and bottoms. The only negative for this skillet is that I have a ceramic stovetop and have to be careful about not sliding it on the surface or they say it will scratch the surface. I am very careful about how I pick up the skillet and where I place it. Other than that, it is awesome! It comes with a red silicone sleeve like accessory that you put over the handle before you pick it up so that I won't burn my hand when I pick it up and put it somewhere. It looks like this:
Because of the silicon-protected handle, I can transfer from stovetop to tabletop is a cinch. Also because of its revolutionary design, you can take your skillet straight from the burner to the dining table to the fridge! Now that is truly amazing! Like one time I had just cooked one of those bag meals and something came up and I needed to run a quick errand. I was able to just grab the skillet and store in the fridge because I wasn't sure how long I would be gone.
All Xtrema Cookware come with these features so it is not just the skillet but take a look at what all they are offering with their cookware:

**Non-scratch: You have the freedom to use any utensils: nylon, silicone and wooden.
**Versatile: Built to withstand extreme heat and cold, each piece can go directly from oven to freezer. Whether you want to cook on the stovetop, broiler, grill or microwave, you can do it all with Xtrema.
**Easy to Clean: Spend more time enjoying your food and less time cleaning up after it with Xtrema’s sinfully easy clean up … you can even stick it in the dishwasher!
**Practical: With Xtrema, your cooking time is reduced and your food will stay hotter longer.
**Healthy: Your food will not only taste better, it will be healthier as no trace metals or chemicals leach from the non-toxic ceramic glaze surface.
**100% Green: Not only is cooking with Xtrema healthy for your family, it’s also friendly to the environment. From the earthy-friendly production practices and inorganic natural minerals used in construction to the safe ceramic glaze alternative to harmful PFOA coatings of most other popular non-stick cookware, Xtrema is eco-friendly.
**Handcrafted: Each piece is handcrafted to uphold the strict quality standards of the world’s finest ceramic cookware.

I probably could have used this in either of my Earth Day Giveaway Packages but it is such a useful and great product, I wanted some special mom to be able to cook (if she isn't being taken out for dinner) on Easter to have one of the best skillet's to make whatever it is that her family likes for Easter dinner without having to worry about scrubbing the skillet to death to clean it!

They have Deals of the Day posted online for you and they change so if you are interested in any of these pots and pans, I would check them out daily to see if they have what you want. Right now the deal is the whole 25 piece set for $399.99! This is only good for today, Monday, March 19th. It will change again tomorrow. Also, did you know that they give you a 50 year warranty? They really believe in their heat resistant cookware and that it is the healthier way to cook and eat. Check out the Xtrema Can Take The Heat Challenge and you will be impressed with all the "green" alternatives that they have!

I was poking around Xtrema's site and saw that they had an awesome tea kettle that would keep the water hotter than my really thin cheap one. Good thing I don't need it right way because the 1 quart is out of stock until June and I don't need a 2 quart just for me.
Doesn't that look absolutely beautiful? I know, if you are not a tea drinker it just looks like a black kettle. But I can tell from looking at the picture that this kettle would be something I could pass on to my daughter or granddaughter and still be in mint condition! Gosh, I may have to see if hubby will get this for me for Christmas but order it in June before they run out again! Sounds like a plan to me.
They do have quite a selection of products that are on sale for 25% off so if you think you might like one of these babies and can't wait to see if you win the skillet, you might want to go to the 25% Off Sale section and grab something. I already looked and they don't have another teapot in there for sale so I will just have to wait, I guess.

Besides pots and pans, they also have bakeware such as pie pans, oblong pans, loaf pans, square cake pans and even a toaster oven and broiling pan! Wow, Xtrema thought of everything! I like that a company thinks ahead and tries to envision what a company needs to do to make things easier on us Moms. Nice to know someone has your back, huh?

Here is just a snippet of what I found under About Us. I do hope you take the time to finish reading about this great company:
For 23 years I worked for and represented Corning Glass Works, the finest ceramics company in the world, the makers of Corning Ware cookware, Pyrex bakeware and Corelle dinnerware. It was during these years that I was blessed with working with so many wonderful people who helped to shape and mold my love for the glass ceramics business. I would like to personally thank these Corning people who had a significant and measurable impact on my life – Amory Houghton, Jamie Houghton, Tom Mac Avoy, Doug Lee, Dave Radin, Jack Bergstrom, Bill Dout, Lloyd Fuller, Hap McClure, Dave Rauscher, George Van Ness, Mike Schuster, Bruce Moore, Jack Sheehan, Dave Leber, Tom Mullen, Carl Schulteis, Team Metro, the Eastern Region and especially Terry Yearick and George Jackson for not just talking the talk but living and walking in truth and always shining their Godly light.

In October of 2004, three years after my tenure with Corning ended I received an unsolicited e-mail from Taiwan asking me if I would be interested in a new high temperature ceramic material that could go on top of the stove and under the broiler, a product that would surpass the cooking performance and benefits of the original Corning Ware. I say the original Corning Ware because the Corning Ware manufacturing facility in Martinsburg, WV was closed and dismantled in 2002. Corning Ware is still being marketed today by World Kitchen but the product is now being made of stoneware and not the patented Pyro-Ceram material that made Corning Ware so recognizable.

Wow, this looks great. I have been looking for a new fry pan, that is not like the cheap stuff they have. The teapot, can't wait for June, I really need a new one! Thanks for this review, one of my favorites!

I love that this skillet is scratch proof! I eventually ruin every skittet I own with scratches and this would save me money in replacements over time.
