Newmans Own Organics Spotlight Review

I know you all have heard me talk about Newman's Own Organics all along the way and once again they have come thru for me on my Tisket A Tasket Spring Giveaway which is honoring Spring and Easter all together. Well, you just can't have Easter without a little bit of chocolate and a few other goodies, so Newman's Own Organics has gotten together a little bit of this and that to sweeten up your Easter and Spring. Here is what I got to review:

1. Chocolate Peanut Butter Cups
2. Chocolate Caramel Cups
3. Chocolate Mint Cups
4. Licorice
5. ABC Vanilla Cookies
6. ABC Cinnamon Grahams
7. Newman O's Peanut Butter
8. ABC Chocolate Cookies

The above Newman O's Peanut Butter Cookies are pretty darn awesome! If you love peanut butter and chocolate mixed together, then you are gonna love these cookies! It is sorta like a Reese's Peanut Butter Cup but instead of candy you have a cookie. Here is what Nell says about the Peanut Butter Cookies and how they came about:
"We've been listening to our consumers," says Nell, "They requested a smaller size that is more economical and suitable for the single person, small family, or those counting calories who find the larger packages too tempting. The new peanut butter crème was one we thought kids and adults would both enjoy. We certainly do!"
Do you remember growing up and eating the alphabet cookies? I sure do. Or the animal crackers that came in that little zoo bus like container? Well, mix those together and you have Newman's Own Organics ABC Cookies in Vanilla, Chocolate and Cinnamon. They are small but pack a powerful punch of flavor into each bite! I really could not pick a favorite because they were all so good so I will leave that decision up to you if you can. Your kids will love them and so will you because they are less calories and fat than the bigger sized cookies or snacks. Serve them will juice or milk to complete a rounded out snack that you can feel good about.

Now, I am gonna be honest here and tell you that I normally don't eat Licorice because I always associate it with the black kind and I have never been able to eat that no matter what! But, with the Tangerine and Strawberry I found something that I could eat as far as Licorice. It still would not be my number one favorite candy, but I can eat it. But, black, well you can have that one. And the Pomegranate is also one of those flavors I have a hard time with in just about any form but these weren't too bad. But, when I gave the black ones and the pomegranate ones to my best friend, she thought she had died and gone to heaven! I can always count on her to help me out because I know that there are people out there that love this stuff and I did want you to know that these are as good as any on the market and my friend was able to convince me that Newman's Own Organics Licorice was one of the best.

Lastly, I wanted to talk about the Chocolate Cups that come in Caramel, Peanut Butter and Mint. Of all of them, I have to say my husband and I both agree the Mint is our very favorite. Which was a surprise coming from him because he is a peanut butter cup lover from way back! But there is just something about that Mint Cup that really grabs ahold of you and hooks ya right in. But the very best part is this: they have 3 cups in each package, not 2 like in most other brands!! We got a whole extra cup to share and boy did it hit the spot! A couple of them you have a choice between milk chocolate and dark chocolate.

Here is what Nell has to say about the chocolate cups:
"I couldn't resist recreating a favorite childhood treat. Our cups have a wonderfully creamy, melt-in-your mouth texture," says Nell. We focus on the kinds of products we loved as kids. We take them one step further by using the highest quality of available organic ingredients.

Newman's Own Organics has made a commitment with the launch of our new chocolate bars and cups to pay a premium above and beyond the current market price for Certified Organic Cocoa Beans that is tied to the Fair Trade market price of Organic Cocoa Beans.

I also wanted to give you just a tidbit of information on how they became what they are today:
Newman’s Own Organics was established as a division of Newman’s Own in 1993, and became a separate company in late 2001. Paul Newman has given over $200 million to thousands of charities worldwide since 1982.
Newman's Own Organics has been so kind as to give the winner of my Tisket A Tasket Spring Giveaway Package (which starts on April 8th) all of the products I mentioned above and reviewed along with a little extra surprise from them to you. Thanks Newman's Own for being so generous! Open to the U.S. only.

Mary Bearden personally reviewed these products. I did not receive any monetary compensation for my review, just a sample product. All opinions are mine and belong to me solely. My thoughts and opinions may differ from yours. All photo's were taken by Mary Bearden and her cranky camera!

Thanks for the review. I love Newman's Own products. They have the best salad dressings out there. My kids love the ABC Cinnamon Grahams. I aven't tried the licorice, but I will be looking for it next time I am at the store. I love licorice! :)
