Kicking Horse Coffee Review & Giveaway **Closed**

I try every now and again to get some coffee to review because my husband loves the stuff and he will not drink my hot tea to save his life! But, I have to admit every once in awhile I like to drink a really good cup of coffee myself. Plus, we got a new grinder for Christmas and we haven't been able to try it out. So, when the opportunity came along to review Kicking Horse Coffee, I was raring to go! Course, I did not even think at the time to ask or know if it was gonna be ground already or in whole beans and sure enough it came in whole beans! Good thing I had that grinder sitting there just waiting for his first grind!

As you can see from the chart above, I chose this particular coffee because it looked like it had the less acid than some of the others. Mike and I both have acid reflux so whenever I can control his intake of caffeine I try to. He drinks enough coke and coffee I don't see how he is not bouncing off the walls! They have all kinds for you to choose from depending on how bold, how much acid, how much body, etc. you want in your coffee, which I think is awesome that you have a a choice in what kind of coffee to get.

We both really enjoyed this coffee alot! We could tell the moment we opened the can and smelled the beans and when I ground them up it was even more flavorful and smelled soo good! For the first time in awhile, I did not have to add tons of sugar or creamer to perk up or hide the flavor. It was so good that we did not have to do much to help this coffee except sit back and drink this wonderful coffee and be happy!

Oh, wow, I just found out that they have an actual Kicking Horse Cafe up there in Canada and they sell baked goods like cookies, brownies, scones and pies along with banana bread! Gosh, they sure do look good. All those folks up there have got alot more to choose from than I do. But, I guess I could find a cafe somewhere if I were to get out I guess. Mmm, I wonder if they mail cookies? There goes that lazy streak again!

There are actually 17 kinds of coffee you can choose from at Kicking Horse. I don't know how I missed some of them that I would have loved to try and one is the Decaf and the other is the Mocah YoHo! Oh, well, next time maybe! I should have been paying more attention. Or was I thinking Mike would like this one best and after all the girly stuff I get, he deserves a break too! So, that is really why I chose the one with the green kicking horse on the can. Of course, according to them, there is even a more intense coffee than that one! I don't believe I want to go quite that far. But for those of you that do, I would think about seriously getting some Kicking Horse Coffee because they have all the ranges of flavors that you might want.

Wow, Kicking Horse is into alot of charities! I did not copy them all so if you want to see the complete list go to their Community section:
We’re dedicated to strong community involvement, both locally and throughout B.C. We are involved with such groups as the Nature Conservancy of Canada and numerous local food banks. As well, we support the annual Wings over the Rockies festival and a bunch of other charitable and sports related events to be part of the community.
◦The Banff Mountain Film & Book Festival — Be inspired. Be energized. Celebrate the spirit of adventure at the Banff Mountain Film and Book Festival. Experience the adventure of climbing, mountain expeditions, mountain sport, environment and remote cultures.

◦Jumbo Creek Conservation Society (JCCS) — Educating the public about the consequences of the proposed Jumbo Glacier Resort. Try our 'bold blend of protest' in support of Jumbo Wild.
◦Living Lakes Network Canada — is a network of action-oriented NGOs that facilitate and initiate projects in the fields of science, education and restoration, that result in long-term protection of our precious freshwater resources.
◦The Nature Conservancy of Canada (NCC) — We commit a percentage of our pre-tax profits to help conserve land in the Rocky Mountains of British Columbia.
You can buy their coffee's all over the place including Amazon and their online store. They are certified Organic and certified Fair Trade! So by buying their coffee you are also helping our planet and our eco system. OMG, I just found out they have tea also! 13 kinds to be exact! Now, how in the heck did that slip by me? Oh, well, because I promised to let my hubby have something for himself this time.

Oh, well, maybe next time I need some tea, I will check on Kicking Horse and see what all they have, don't wanna look too much right now because I might drool too much! Ha! I really do love it when a company thinks enough of it's employees to put their pictures and a little bit about them up on their website. It tells you that they care about them and us and I like that. It makes them feel like family almost and that you can enjoy your cup of coffee alot better knowing who made it. So, thanks for doing that, Kicking Horse!
