Butt Bench Review

I ran across this one day while doing some research on RA and what people do who have bathtubs instead of showers and thought, mmm, what a great idea! Butt Bench has come up with the perfect solution for those who do not have a shower in their home, a bench that fits on the backside of your tub so that if you are weak from an illness, disabled or you are a senior citizen, you can relax and take time to enjoy a shower while you are sitting. I was sent this beautiful white pine bench to use on our bathtub.

I have Fibromyalgia, RA and have had both knees replaced, so some days it is just easier to sit while taking a shower and not tempt fate. I am really glad I have something to help me as we grow older and will lean more heavily on products like these in our "old age"!

You can get this bench in the white pine, pine and pink pine along with cedar. The difference in the pine and cedar is that the cedar is a more expenisve wood. Butt Bench is a sturdy, high-quality patent-pending bathtub seat made of natural wood. And it will hold your weight whether you are sitting on it, standing or leaning. You can also get the handicapped hand rails for the side of the tub if your loved one or you needs the extra support. I found most of those products here in the Catalog section of their site. They come in either 12 or 15 inches, so you will need to measure your tub to make sure that you get the correct size. It will fit most bathtubs up to 30" in width. However, if your tub is over 60 years old, then probably not. Each Butt Bench can hold up to 300 pounds! There is also free shipping in the U.S. only.

The Butt Bench has built in sliding suction cups hold the bathtub seat in place. No need to make holes in your wall or install anything permanently. Butt Bench can be removed or uninstalled with ease. This bath seat is sealed with a water-proof finish making it resistant to water. We have taken quite a few showers and so far it has done exactly what was promised.

On another note, as I was reading thru Butt Bench's site, my eye caught the article about them donating a Butt Bench to each and every military person wounded in Irag or Afghanistan. Now, that is what I call true patriotism, when you are willing to take action instead of just talk! Sometimes, like in any production company, some products will get dinged or nicked and companies will sell them at a great discount for someone who does not mind the imperfections. Butt Bench does not do that. Those are the benches that go to our wounded military who come home with leg injuries and have a hard time sitting down. If you or someone in your family or friend has been injured in these wars, please reach out and contact them, to inquire about a Free tub seat. You will be so glad if you would go and read some of the testimonials from other people who have the Butt Bench already and how that has helped them in their everyday life.

Here is a little of what I found out about Butt Bench:
Bath Extras designed and manufactures the Butt Bench®, a patent-pending bath seat made of natural wood first created in 2006. We started giving out Butt Bench® to friends and family and they absolutely loved it. Some of them gave the bath seat to their aging parents and it helped them sit comfortably while bathing. We have a Butt Bench in every tub and use it to make shaving and footbaths easier, and to store our assortment of shampoos and soaps.

Because of the positive feedback we’ve gotten over the years, we decided to make the Butt Bench available to the public. It’s now available in a variety of colors and two different sizes. We’re also happy to bring our customers an assortment of bath safety products that require no installation. Our goal is to make bathing safer and easier for people of all ages.

I would like the prefer the cedar. I have bone pain in the hips, legs and back from the drugs I have to take after having breast cancer. I agree there are some days that standing really hurts but trying to get out of a sitting position in the tub is impossible.
