The opening of the aquarium is a major Charleston event, and Theodosia has been hired to cater tea, scones, and sandwiches for the private party to honor dignitaries and big - buck donors. Things are going swimmingly until Theodosia escapes the party for a momentary rest, only to discover the body of a man entangled in a net, drowned in of the aquarium's state-of-the-art tanks. My Thoughts:
To make matters worse, the victim is Theodosia's former boyfriend Parker Scully. The EMT's on the scene think Parker's drowning was an accident, but when Theodosia notices what look like defensive wounds on his hands, she realizes that someone wanted Parker dead. The local police aren't keen on hearing her theory--especially because of her ties to the victim--so Theodosia knows that if she wants Parker's killer brought to justice, she'll have to jump into the deep end and start her own investigation.
Theodosia Browning owns the Indigo Tea Shop and has two helpers, Haley, the cook, and Drayton, the tea connisour. Parker Scully, her ex boyfriend owns a bistro that held a great selection of wines. Together, they were to cater to the opening of the Neptune Aquarium in Charleston.
Unfortunately, for Parker Scully, Theodosia discovers his body in one of the tanks while taking a break. Theodosia becomes obsessed with finding his killer and at first suspects the new girlfriend, Shelby Cawley, until she proves she was not the killer. Upon this discovery she moves on to the next likely suspect, Lyle Manship who is a very scary and evil individual but she also finds he is not the killer, although he had plenty of motive. She moved on to a lawyer named Joe Beaudry who was a prime suspect but lead her down a dead end.
Theodosia saw a poster up up for a fundraiser for Tuesday Child that was in Parker Scully's office and that was going to be run my Majel Carter as a scavenger hunt. Theodosia was selected to take pictures of different historical sights around the area. One day she was run off the road by someone in a black Chevrolet truck. She immediately thought that maybe she uncovered something while taking the pictures. She also wondered if this had anything to do with Parker Scully's killer.
Majel Carter is not whom everyone thinks she is and somehow Parker Scully found out something about her. Parker Scully apparently found out that there really wasn't a charity called Tuesday Child. But was it enough of a motive to kill him? Who was behind the so called charity? And why did Theodosia still care so much about an ex-boyfriend? To find out all the answers, you will just have to read the book!
