Soda Stream Spotlight Sponsor Review

I was very fortunate recently to be able to review the Sodastream Machine back right before Christmas and now I am able to give one of my reader's their own Sodastream that will be in the Valentine's Day Giveaway Package that starts on February 2nd!

It was so awesome to be able to make our own drinks in our home and to be able to save empty cans or bottles for our enviornment. That is really what the purpose was of the inventors/founders for coming up with Sodastream. They wanted the cans and bottles we saved from using Sodastream to have less of an impact on our planet and hopefully to help make it greener. Check out what more they have to say about the environment here.

Of course, Mike & I are a little clueless on things like this so it took us awhile to figure out how to make it work but it was a really stupid little thing we overlooked! We did not screw the bottle into the machine!! Can you believe we were that dumb? We were just holding the bottle up to the machine and when we pressed the button on top of the Sodastream, water went all over us and the kitchen counter! It wasn't funny at the time but now I laugh hysterically about it. We must have done it about 10 times before we caught on! Lord, I wasted alot of towels that day. Here are some of the flavors that were sent along with the Sodastream:

This is a list of them since the picture does not do the bottle justice:

1. Coke
2. Diet Coke
3. Root Beer
4. Orange
5. Lemon Lime
6. Diet Lemon Lime
7. Diet Pink Grapefruit
8. Energy
9. Gingerale
10.Green Tea Pomegranate Peach
11.Black Currant & Pear
12.Cranberry Raspberry

And then we also received My Water Flavor Essence in Orange, Raspberry and Lemon Lime which you add to sparkling water to give it a fruit flavor! They were more than generous with the kinds of flavors they sent. I actually did not know you could buy alot of those flavors as sodas so I learned alot from reading their paperwork they sent and from reading what was on Sodastream's website.

I love the idea of making my own soda's and sparkling water in the comfort of my own home and that I am saving all those cans, even though we recycle, isn't it better to not to have to recycle at all? What I also loved was that they have a 30 day money back guarantee if you don't like it and a 2 year manufacturer's warranty on all their new soda makers. What other incentive is there to at least try it to see if you might like it? If you love fountain drinks then this is the product for you. Same concept. You will have to take your Carbonator to a retailer to be filled or to get a new one. Here is some info on that:
SodaStream Carbonators are made of lightweight aluminum to exacting standards set forth by the US Department of Transportation. We maintain the highest quality standards to ensure safety and purity of our CO2 refills. Carbonators are available in two sizes, to make up to 60 or 130 liters of soda or sparkling water per carbonator. A full, licensed CO2 carbonator is included with the purchase of every SodaStream soda maker kit. When empty, SodaStream takes back the cylinder to be cleaned, inspected, refilled and reused. Carbonators may be exchanged online, or at select SodaStream authorized retailers.
These are all the colors that the Sodastream Machine come in. I received the black one. They are easy to assemble and other than our one mistake, we were able to get it all together in no time and once we corrected our mistake it took about 30 seconds to make our drinks! Of course, we had to start with regular Coke as that is Mike's favorite drink. I prefer Dr. Pepper but can drink other soda's so I let him try his first. I was really amazed at how good it actually tasted. I thought the Green Tea Pomegranate Peach was also very good.

Mike used the Energy to give himself a boost of energy when he needed it the last day he worked before having his neck & back surgery. So, he was very pleased that he found a great way to get that extra boost he needs in the afternoons. My granddaughter loved the orange and the Lemon Lime. She said the Lemon Lime tasted just like Sprite or 7up to her. My friend really liked the Black Currant & Pear along with the Diet Pink Grapefruit.

So, I found a way to please everyone without having to buy bookoos of bottles or cans of different flavors that everyone would enjoy! I found out later that there are actually 25 flavors to choose from! Wow, who would have ever thought? Check out this page to see how many there are, you are gonna be surprised! You can get them in bottles or in variety packs. Here is what Sodastream says about using their wonderful products:
•Less packaging waste from cans and bottles.
•Less pollution caused by transport of bottled beverages.

One SodaStream carbonator makes 60 or 110 liters, equivalent to 170 or 310 aluminum cans! When empty, the carbonator is refilled and reused, ready to make more fizzy and tasty soda whenever you want it.
Here is a little bit about them in their About Us page. Also go read the rest as there was so much to say and I don't have enough space to tell you everything:
SodaStream is the world's largest manufacturer, distributor and marketer of Home Carbonation Systems. Our brands are sold in over 50,000 retail stores in 42 countries including home & electrical appliance stores, hypermarkets, supermarkets, department stores, convenience stores, DIY, specialty and "green" stores, water specialists & dealers, as well as online and in catalogs.
Mary Bearden personally reviewed these products. I did not receive any monetary compensation for my review, just a sample product. All opinions are mine and belong to me solely.
