Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant Review

I have a great new exfoliator I found called Dermalogica Daily Microfoliant that I think you are gonna love as much as I do! I found it while cruising around on the Dermstore internet site. This is a very unique idea using a rice based enzyme powder to gently exfoliate your skin's dirt and debris away to reveal smoother and brighter skin.

What you do is take a small amount of the powder and put into your hands then get a little bit of water and start rubbing it until it forms a nice looking paste. The water activates a salicylic acid that helps in making your skin appear smoother and accelerates the cell renewal. You put that paste substance all over your face, but please be careful around the eye area.

The skin brightening property has bearberry, grapefruit, aspergillus and licorice to help balance uneven skin tone. And the super soothing blend of green tea, ginkgo and colloidal oatmeal calms inflammation, leaving your skin extraordinarily clear and refreshed.

I have to tell you I was very impressed with this because it did not look so good in my hand while I was getting it ready to make a paste. But it went on smoother than I thought and it really wasn't bad at all! I did learn that massaging circular works the best for me. You can try different methods until you find the one that works best for you. It is gentle enough to use every day unless you are using a medically prescribed exfoliation. Then I would check with your doctor first before using anything. It is fragrance free and has no artifical colors. So, I am giving it an A+!

Dermalogica gives you quite alot in the 2.6 oz. size and it should last you a good while. If you feel some skin irritation or a tingling, stop for a few days and see if it clears up. If it happens again, you may be sensitive to some of the ingrediants. I would talk to my doctor then to see what he thought. I always play it safe and would rather look a little foolish than to find out later that I waited too long. Dermalogica has a gentle exfoliator that you can use or they may recommend that you stick with a nice cleansing gel. I believe that Dermalogica is a great brand that brings us great products at a reasonable price and they will do their best to make sure you get a product that is right for you!

I read a report not long ago that proved that the $200 and $300 creams work no better than the $25-$50 creams. And I think they are right. I have in the past used (for just a little while) an expensive brand and I saw no difference once they were all gone then I did when I used my old moisturizer that I had started using in my 20's. Read your labels and know what you are looking for. We are all not the same and don't need the same products.

We also may not want the same results. So gather your information and compare until you find the right regime for you.

I would start with Dermalogica because they have mild formulas and for those of us who can tolerate a more agressive product, those are available also. Just read your labels and understand what that product does. Don't be afraid to ask the salesperson what she thinks. I have found them to be the most honest because they have nothing to lose. Now, let me back up, I am talking about salespeople who work in stores like Sephora or Ulta.

They sell all the brands except prescription, so they know what works and what doesn't. I always go and ask them when something new comes out. I tear the page out of the magazine and ask them about it. Sephora is really good about giving you samples to try before you buy so you can test it w/o wasting your money and then finding out it is not for you. Other than that, I trust my doctor. If he thinks it might be good to try, then I do it!

I have alot more products to try from Dermalogica but I do know that the Daily Microfoliant is gonna be one that I keep on getting because my skin just glows when I use it afterwards. And if you don't like shopping or live too far away from stores that carry Dermalogica, then go to You will find tons of products in the Dermalogica brand and you get free shipping. But most of all, you get the satisfaction of knowing that you are getting a great brand name at a reasonable cost.

Check back once a month and I will be updating you on products that I will be reviewing. I think as women, we deserve to know all of our options and to make use of them and pass it along so that other women can benefit from our great discoveries! If you learn of a new product or even an old one that I don't know about or haven't talked about, let me know and I will try my best to find out what I can about it for you. Til next month!

Mary Bearden personally reviewed these products. I did not receive any monetary compensation for my review, just a sample product. All opinions are mine and belong to me solely. My thoughts and opinions may differ from yours. I was not given the product in exchange for a positive review. All images came from me and my famous cranky camera!

Dr. Oz has said that salicyclic acic is good in a face product. I also like that fact that this product contains rice. An exfolliant is really good to keep skin at its best.
