Tropical Traditions Virgin Coconut Oil Review

Tropical Traditions only uses the highest quality organic coconuts from the Phillipines that are hand selected get the distinction of being in the Gold Label brand. This was really very fascinating to me because I really and truly did not know that a Coconut Oil was being used in cooking. I mean, I knew about coconuts but I always had associated coconuts with shredded coconut that you make cakes and cookies with.

Basically it looks like they take the pure coconut water from the coconuts and extract the coconut milk by traditional methods. The amazing thing to me is that it does not have to be placed in the refrigderator after opening. They do recommend that you keep it out of direct sunlight and if you want to liquify the Coconut Oil, just place in a pan of warm water and after use it will get solid again under 76 degrees.

I was very excited to try my new found product and of course I had no idea what to do with it so I went on Tropical Tradition's site for recipes and looked around until I found something I could make. There was one several and after I read a few I realized it really wasn't that much different than any other vegetable oil. You just substitute it for instance when frying french fries, use the coconut oil instead or if you are baking something, just use the coconut oil instead of butter or margarine.

I even found out it can be used in Smoothies or frozen and eaten like that and it takes sorta like candy. I was really floored by how many things it could do that I have been missing out on all these years. I really liked the idea of freezing some in ice cube trays and using them for drinks instead of regular ice for a different kinda taste. I bet it would taste great in Pina Colada's!

One of the best parts? Well, it can stay on the shelf for up to 2 years before it has to be thrown out but I bet there are people out there who probably use it faster than that. I LOVE Coconut but my husband doesn't, so I rarely get to have anything with cocnut unless I am out at a friend's houe party or out eating. So, I am going to cherish my bottle of Virgin Coconut Oil and use it a little at a time so that I get to savor each morsel! I am definitely gonna try some of these recipes, too, because by now it looks like they have quite a collection of things you can make with coconut. Tropical Traditions recommend that you buy your Virgin Coconut Oil online as it is the safest and easiest ways to get the best deals.

I took a few excerpts out of Tropical Traditions FAQ's to give you an impression of how great a company it is:
Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil is the same Virgin Coconut Oil that Tropical Traditions has sold for the past 7+ years, and has now been enhanced to the point where we have developed even higher standards for the production of this premium Virgin Coconut Oil. It contains the highest levels of antioxidants. It is still produced by hand in small batches by family micro enterprises in the Philippines, and many of our producers who are now managers have been producing this Virgin Coconut Oil for over 7 years. They have truly learned through years of experience what it takes to produce a high quality Virgin Coconut Oil. They have learned how to pick out the best coconuts from each harvest that produce the best quality oil. Their most recent discovery came in 2007 when certain groups in rural areas had problems with water sources. Water is needed to make the coconut milk from which the oil is extracted. Using true Filipino ingenuity, they started collecting and using the pure nutritious coconut water from inside the organic coconuts instead. They noticed that the water separated from the oil much quicker, that less heat was needed at the end, and that less filtering was needed also.

The end result was a higher quality and better tasting Virgin Coconut Oil. Independent laboratory analysis shows this to be one of the highest quality coconut oils on the market, having the highest levels of antioxidants. This enhanced Virgin Coconut Oil is now our Gold Label brand. It meets our strictest standards to earn this designation. Today when you buy Tropical Traditions Gold Label Virgin Coconut Oil, you are buying the highest quality coconut oil we have to offer, and it is still made by hand and benefiting families in the rural areas of the Philippines where the coconuts grow.
