The Protein Bakery Cookie's & Brownie's Spotlight Review

There is this really awesome bakery company called The Protein Bakery that I am going to tell you about today and it is going to make you want to get at least one or two things from them! Here is what we got to review:

1. (1) Oatmeal & Cranberry Cookies (2 in a pack)
2. (1) Chocolate Chocolate White Chip Cookies (2 in a pack)
3. (1) Peanut Butter Chocolate Chip Cookies (2 in a pack)
4. (1) Colossal Trail Mix Cookie
5. (1) Colossal Peanut Butter Peanut Butter Chip Cookie
6. (1) Chocolate Chip Blondie Brownie
7. (1) Walnut Brownie
8. (1) Peanut Butter Brownie

Wow, they were all really good! What surprised me the most was the Colossal Trail Mix Cookie. It has a blend of whey protein, rolled oats, dried fruits, nuts, seeds, coconut, and fresh cinnamon. I really liked it and look at all the fiber that was in that cookie! My doctors are always on to me about my fiber take so while I was eating these cookies, I got plenty of fiber!

I know you can't tell from this picture but the Colossal Cookies really are huge! Depending on what time of day it was, I would have to cut it in half because I could not eat the whole thing. Now, if I skipped breakfast which I do quite often, then yeah, before lunch I could eat a whole Colossal Cookie by myself. The other Colossal Cookie that I really liked was the Peanut Butter cookies, both small and large.

They were actually alot more moist than I thought they would be. Sometimes, when I have tried protein cookies or bars, they are often a little on the dry side but these were actually good. I even threw them in the microwave for a few minutes to make them warm and soft. Boy, they are really good that way!

Look at the chips in that brownie! Now, on those, I really did have to eat them in several different times. They were nice and moist but all those chips made it a touch sweet so I had to cut the brownies into three sections and then it was perfect for me. Plus, it will fill out up real quick if you are not careful! My husband liked the Peanut Butter Brownie the best but mine was the Chocolate Chip and then the Walnut Brownie.

The Protein Bakery makes so much more than what I talked about here as far as flavors. You can buy the cookies in singles, tins, gift boxes and gift bags. The tins almost look like coffee cans but they are all silver with The Protein Bakery label on them. You could use it for coffee storage later when you are done.

Here is a quote from The Protein Bakery's site on how they feel about their baked goods:
Experience our "cookies with muscle"—the perfect balance of lean, mean protein and big, bountiful taste. We're serving up wheat-free, delicious gourmet cookie combination's, 24/7. Everything is always fresh and there's no waiting.

We achieve our unique (and tasty) balance by substituting white flour with rolled oats, which means we're wheat-free (common allergen)and rich in dietary fiber. We use whey protein isolate that is rich in essential acids and helps to maintain a lean body mass for optimal health. Because we want to keep those muscles working smoothly we pack an extra 4 to 6 grams of protein per cookie. In addition, each scrumptious treat has absolutely no trans-fat and low in Gluten! So, we have your attention now, right?

In our kitchen, we never, ever compromise on quality. Providing you with a smart indulgence matters just as much as delivering a healthy snack alternative. (Balance!) That's home-baked, wheat-free wholesomeness you're looking at. (And about to order.) So long, cardboard taste!
No matter what you choose whether from the cookies to the brownies, you won't go wrong. I don't think they have any flavor of cookie or brownie that I saw on their site that I would turn away from! But then, I have always been a brownie freak and I have to admit I love cookies, too! It is my one weakness. I can pass up cake or pie but there is just something about being able to grab and run with a brownie or cookie that you can't do with the cakes or pies! Anyway, they have lots of great comments from all walks of people and you can read some of them by clicking on the taste-tamonials on the main page.

Found this little bit of info on the About Us page:
When I started teaching fitness in San Francisco, my life was outof balance. My weight was up, my spirits were down, and as a result, everything else-career, relationships, life-was flat lining. Getting fitgot me in touch with my body and taught me how balance impacts performance& health. 82 pounds lighter and healthier, I moved to New York City in 1997 to continue my career helping others. Working as a group fitness instructor and former program director in the city's top gyms was the perfect challenge. (That's a lot of body types, people!)
