Dr. Lucy's Cookies Review & Giveaway **Closed**

I was very excited to find out that I would get to review Dr. Lucy's Cookies because I had heard thru the grapevine that they were really good! And the best part is that they are gluten free, no peanuts, tree nuts, milk or eggs! I have not been diagnosed with celiac but I have IBS and when I can I will opt for the gluten free products just to test them and see if it helps some and I have to admit my attacks are not coming every single day like they used to. You would not believe the medicines I had to take daily to help with my stomach. I still take some, but, not as many as before. I got to try:

1. Chocolate Cookies
2. Maple Bliss Cookies
3. Ginger Snap Cookies

I have to tell you that what surprised me the most was that I liked the Maple Bliss Cookies the best for some reason. Now, that is pretty huge for me because I am a tried and true chocolate fan so I was not expecting much but there is just something about it that set my taste buds afloat! Of course, I still liked the Chocolate ones but I have to be honest and say the Maple Bliss was outstanding! Maybe it reminded me of the old timey pancakes I used to get from my Grandmother and Aunts, who knows, but I sure did like them! Oh, and one more thing, while I was reading about the chocolate cookies she said that you could make your pie crusts with them by grinding them up sorta like you do oreos when you make an oreo pie.

The Ginger Snap Cookies were really good too but because I had made a huge amount of gingerbread cookies for Christmas, I think we were all a little bored with Ginger Snaps for the moment. But I did eat a few and they were very good but I wrapped them up pretty good and stuck them in the crisper in the fridge so they don't go bad while we take a little break from anything Ginger! The secret to their Ginger Snaps being so good is that they add chipotle spice to their cookies. Never have heard of that but it does give it that special little kick! Besides, that will leave us with a great treat for Valentine's!

Now, I do have to tell you that these cookies are crisp and full of flavor. They are not soft and chewy so if you like your cookies that way, you may not appreciate these as much. I, too, am a soft and chewy cookie person but only when it comes to chocolate chip and peanut butter cookies. Other than that, they can be as crispy as can be because there is just something about a good crunch when you bite into one of Dr. Lucy's amazing cookies! I did find out that they do make a chocolate chip cookie, sugar, cinnamon thin and oatmeal. Mmm, I bet that sugar cookie and cinnamon thin would have been just as good!

If you do have celiac disease, Dr. Lucy has a section where you can go and click on several links that can take you to all sorts of information and help that you might need. You can also sign up to be a part of a support group if you so choose. Dr. Lucy has even set aside a section on her website for us to go and see if we might have some food allergies that we might not know about. If you would prefer to buy your cookies at a local store you can go to her page and see if there is a store located in your area. If all else fails, you can order online from their online shop!

I found out a little bit about Dr. Lucy and decided to share an excerpt:
When Dr. Lucy Gibney discovered her child had severe food allergies, she got down to some serious medical research—in the kitchen. What began as a mother’s tasty recipe for her child has today developed into a delicious alternative for people with or without special dietary considerations.

Lucy's cookies are gluten free and made without milk, eggs, peanuts or tree nuts, but you'd never know it—they’re scrumptious. We employ the very best allergen control methods to help safeguard you and your family.

Lucy’s stand as proof that a modified diet doesn’t have to be a limited diet. Start eating what you’ve been missing.
And she has all the certifications to prove she knows what she is doing! Isn't that amazing! She also has a blog where you can go and get more advise or recipes to help your family with gluten free products or recipes.

You can connect with Dr. Lucy several ways:

Would especially love to try MAPLE Bliss... I Love maple so much and that is a nice unique flavor cookie making it even more of a special treat for my highly allergic son who's suffered angio edema and anaphylactic shock numerous times even from simple very small cross contaminations.
