CarMD Vehicle Health System

I was really nervous about signing up for this next adventure called CarMD that tracks the "health" of your car. But my husband said, "go for it", so we agreed to be a part of the testing phase. When the box came in I let Mike handle all of that technical stuff because God knows I wouldn't have the faintest idea of where to even start. But, as Mike likes to claim, it was easy peasy and I could have done it myself!

He says you basically just plug the system into the place where cigarette lighters used to go and it runs some type of test on your car's systems and can tell you what is wrong with your car, what you need to do to get it fixed and most importantly, how much you should be charged! Now, armed with that information, you should never again be a victim to car mechanics who don't tell the truth or lie about what really needs fixing knowing you will be back because they did not fix the "real" problem!

Now, unfortunately, this system only works on cars that are 1996 and newer whether they are foreign or domestic. Sorry guys, I know they really should make one for later models as those are the ones that probably break down the most but I bet it has something to do with the computers inside the cars and I don't know for sure which year that they started putting computers in but I would bet that is the main reason. Older cars just don't have the technology! Here are some of the benefits of CarMD:

1. Catch hidden engine problems before they become expensive
2. Save on auto repair bills by confirming the mechanic's estimate on CarMD
3. Identify simple problems that you can fix yourself
4. You get important safety recalls & technical service bulletins
5. Determines if your vehicle will pass emissions testing
6. Use it before a long road trip to make sure everything is okay
7. Take it with you when shopping for a new car so you don't get ripped off

And all you do is plug the CarMD into a universal part found inside your car. Then turn on the car and listen for the beeps. Once it does that then plug the CarMD tool into your PC or MAC to access their database of "real world" causes and estimates to fix your car's problem. That way, you are armed and ready to go and visit a mechanic and let him know what is wrong and what needs to be fixed and how much it costs. No more taking advantage of women or young teens who don't know any better.

My husband tested our 2001 Ford F150 truck and according to their estimates, his truck is in good shape and we have nothing to worry about at least for now.

It doesn't take really long to test and if you have teens who drive at night because of part time jobs after school, it would be great to know that they are driving something you can depend on.

Same thing with an elder parent who you worry will get stuck somewhere or a spouse having problems on the way home at night. As long as all of their cars are 1996 and younger, you can check them often to make sure they are running smoothly and that will give you peace of mind!

You can go to CarMD and check it out for yourself or call (888) 692-2763. You won't be sorry that you did.

Mary Bearden personally reviewed these products. I did not receive any monitary compensation for my review. I am a BzzAgent and they and CarMD provided me with a sample product to review. All opinions are mine and belong to me solely. My thoughts and opinions may differ from yours. The photo's used in this review were provided by me and the famous cranky camera!

First I'm hearing about this product and I like what I read. Would be a extremely helpful tool to have and when I have the money I'll have to look into getting one of these. Dealerships have ripped my mother off before, its not a pleasant thing.

My car is a 2007 subaru legacy with no known issues. I got the CarMD as part of a trail program but was not expecting much.

It actually told me my car may catch on fire due to a recall notice thatI needed to look into.

So after my carmd review, I am definitely a fan!

wow, this sounds great, we all should have one, may get a better checkup for cars than we do going to our own doctor (lol) thanks for the review.
