Space Race Review

The company that made this Space Race website wanted it to be fun and educational for children so that they could learn and think if was fun in the process. The idea developed when they visited the Smithsonian in Washington, D.C. while on vacation. It took them over a year and a half to get it looking the way they had envisioned: a realistic adventure into space that was fun and taught our children at the same time.

There are several social networks to go to for more information at: www.twitter.com/spaceracekids
or you can go to: www.facebook.com/spaceracekids

There are several airplane characters you can choose to be while playing the game online and they also have a neat feature that lets you print coloring pages so that your children can color their characters just like a real coloring book! They also have flash cards that will teach your children and you about space and the planets and about space exploration, for example, the first space launch and the first moon landing.

I don't know about anybody else, but it never hurts to have reminders of what has happened in our history. If you are like me, it's been awhile since I left high school and these flash cards are a great reminder of points of history about space exploration that I may have forgotten.

Lastly, there is a trailer that you can watch with your kids and also a trivia game you can play to keep them occupied for quite awhile. I think this will become one of their greatest games to play with you so that it becomes a family get together night that is reserved just for the family to sit and choose which airplane they want to be that night and just go for it and just have the best time of your life!

They also have worksheets that all of you can try your hand at to see who remembers the most while they were having so much fun flying thru space and beyond. I hope you do check out this site and let your children enjoy this great project that was put together by parents who wanted their children to have good clean fun but learn something at the same time. It is well worth the time!

Beaded Bungee Bookmarks Review

The name of the wonderful company who made this bookmark for me is called Twin Cottage Industries. It is run by two identical twin sisters, Carol Amos and Kathy Getto. Carol lives in Fallon, Nevada and Kathy lives outside of Boise, Idaho.

When they first contacted me I had no idea what to expect but when these two bookmarks arrived I was really stunned at the work that went into them. Going with the theme of my website they made one of the bookmarks a cup of tea sitting in a saucer with a spoon beside it.

I know the picture does not do it justice because no matter how I tried to take the picture it never really caught the detail that went into the charm. These bookmarks are on bungee cords that you can adjust to any length that you need from small to large.

What I love most about these two incredible women is that they hold down full time jobs, Carol works at a local high school and Kathy works for Boise State University. They use to be able to do these themselves but as their business grew they had to hire some outside help. And this is the best part, they hired mentally disabled young adults and women with a need to work from home.

They give 1% of their gross sales to the Psychiatric Service Dog Society. This company in turn pairs dogs with the severely mentally disabled to assist them in whatever they may need.

I tried to take as good a picture as I could of the second bookmark they sent but my camera is not the best in the world but the little bead in the middle of this that looks like a white light is actually a beautiful shade of purple.

Again, they tried to match what I liked which my site is done in pink and purple and so they went with that theme also. They sell other products on their website such as Adora Pulls that is used for elderly to put on something that is hard for them to grip and then pull so this charm is bigger and helps them do that.

They have key clips, lanyards, water bottle charms and even a soap with hand felted wool that acts like an exfoliate. It will wear off more as time goes on and you use the soap more.

Here is all the information needed to take a look for yourselves at all the wonderful things that these remarkable people do:
