Peanut Butter & Company Review

I have a new company called Peanut Butter & Company and they make different flavors of peanut butter! Now if you are a huge fan of peanut butter, you are gonna love this one!

I was surprised to learn that this actually started at a sandwich shop in Greenwich Village in New York City!

They made peanut butter sandwich's, their famous Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie, Peanut Butter Cookies or their Death by Peanut Butter Sundae. Who knew?

I was very fortunate that they sent me two of their flavors of peanut butter to try:

1. The Bee's Knees (has honey in it)
2. Cinnamon Raisin Swirl (gosh, I love cinnamon!)

I don't know how they knew that I am a cinnamon freak but they sure did send the right one for me! I have Cinnamon Toast Crunch Cereal, Cinnamon Cheerios and Cinnamon Toasted Chex Cereal that I eat just about every day so that will give you some idea of how much this was so appropriate for me. I have always loved peanut butter and Peanut Butter & Company has some of the best tasting peanut butter, especially the Cinnamon Raisin Swirl. You can eat it by itself on a piece of toast or a bagel for breakfast and get all the protein you need.

I would take Cinnamon Raisin Swirl and spread just a tad bit of Hazelnut spread on one slice and Cinnamon Raisin Swirl on the other side and it was absolute heaven! Got yourself a little bit of chocolate, hazelnut, cinnamon and raisins all together in that sandwich! Everyone has different tastes and I bet you can find something different to go with your Cinnamon Raisin Swirl Peanut Butter. Just experiment until you find one that knocks your socks off!

Here is what their description of this flavor says on their website and it is so true that I decided to use it instead of trying to come up with different words to say the same thing:

Our all-natural peanut butter with cinnamon and raisins. It's like spreading your peanut butter on cinnamon raisin bread—without the bread. It contains no cholesterol, no trans fats, no hydrogenated oils, and no high-fructose corn syrup. It is also gluten-free, certified vegan, and certified kosher pareve by the Orthodox Union. The shelf life is 6 months after opening, if stored in a cool, dry place.

Now, I don't know if you have ever tasted peanut butter with honey in it but I have from several brands. It is actually my preferred "go to" peanut butter when making peanut butter & jelly sandwich's. It tastes so much more creamier and it has its own little special kick that gives whatever jam or jelly you use that much more flavor.

If you have never eaten peanut butter with honey, you gotta try The Bee's Knees. If you feel so so about peanut butter, you will have a whole new opinion if you try it with honey or even the Cinnamon Raisin Swirl.

My husband loves to take bananas and mash them up real good and then he takes The Bee's Knees and adds that to his mixture and then spreads it on his sandwich! I am not kidding, he says that he has been eating that since he was a kid. I love peanut butter but that just does not sound good to me but hey, I don't come between a man and his preferred sandwich so I leave it alone.

Actually, he is having neck surgery tomorrow and will be out of work for two months so he went today and got a loaf of bread and bananas so he can make "his" sandwich for lunch every day! I kid you not!

Here is what is on Peanut Butter & Company's website about The Bee's Knees:

Our all-natural peanut butter blended with scrumptious honey. The Bee's Knees is a delicious new way to enjoy our peanut butter. You can really taste the honey in this new variety, which promises to become a new classic in sandwiches and snacks across the country. It contains no cholesterol, no trans fats, no hydrogenated oils, and no high-fructose corn syrup. It is also gluten-free, vegetarian, and certified kosher pareve by the Orthodox Union. The shelf life is 6 months after opening, if stored in a cool, dry place.

I found out that they also have two other flavors, White Chocolate Wonderful and Dark Chocolate Dreams! Now, I think I could have done some damage with both but I bet the White Chocolate Wonderful would have been fantastic! I know either one would make a great cake icing because for years before they even had chocolate peanut butter I was making a Peanut Butter Fudge Pound Cake to die for!!

And then I took peanut butter and mixed it with melted chocolate and mixed it together and spread it all over the cake! So, now you can skip a step and just take it out of the jar and spread on some cake, even a white or yellow one! I also found out they have other flavors than the 4 new ones I just talked about:

1. Smooth Operator
2. Crunch Time
3. The Heat is On
4. Mighty Maple
5. Old Fashioned Smooth
6. Old Fashioned Crunchy

Who knew you could do so much with peanut butter? Well, I guess they did because they have made a very successful business out of peanut butter. I also found out they have 3 kinds of marshmallow fluff, strawberry, raspberry and regular/original. They even have their own jams & jellies with mouth watering flavors such as Seriously Strawberry Jam, Gorgeous Grape Jelly, Awesome Apricot Preserves and Rip-Roaring Raspberry Preserves.

They even have their own mixes so you can make some great desserts at home yourself! Check out their mixes on this page of their website. I even found a Nuts & Snacks section that you are going to love if you like peanuts!

If you have children you will love the fact that they came up with the squeeze packs for your kids to make it easier to send them to school with the necessary but good foods to make their sandwich's fresh! And on this page of their website you will find an assortment of gear that bear their logo on them. Lastly, they have a gift shop page for you to buy assorted packages to give as gifts to others who enjoy your passion for peanut butter! Oh, did I mention that they sponsor a cycling team?

Okay, guys, I finally am going to do a little History/About Us section that I did not do on the last few reviews but I wanted you to get to know the guy behind Peanut Butter & Company:

Lee Zalben is the founder and president of New York City's world famous Peanut Butter & Co., and the man behind "gourmet peanut butter." Lee grew up in Philadelphia eating a lot of peanut butter. And while an under-graduate student at Vassar College, he always won the fierce competitions he and his friends held for the wackiest but best-tasting peanut butter sandwich during late night study breaks. It was then where the idea of opening a peanut butter sandwich shop sprouted.

After college, Lee worked in advertising and publishing but he never forgot his dream of opening a peanut butter sandwich shop. While walking in Greenwich Village one day, he spotted a vacant storefront near NY University. Quitting his job the next day, the 26-year old entrepreneur-to-be started developing a business plan for his dream shop. On December 21, 1998, the vacant storefront became the Peanut Butter & Co. Sandwich Shop, offering not just various kinds of peanut butter sandwiches like The Elvis and Pregnant Lady but also peanut butter in newfangled flavors like Dark Chocolate Dreams and Cinnamon Raisin Swirl.

It was only a matter of time when people started clamoring to take the peanut butter home. Today, Peanut Butter & Co. is sold in ten delicious flavors in over 10,000 stores around the country and in Canada, the U.K., Japan, and Hong Kong. And the sandwich shop has turned into a pilgrimage site for many peanut butter lovers all over the world. Lee's dream to open a peanut butter sandwich shop did not just become a reality, but he also created the market for specialty peanut butter.

Ya gotta go and check them out and see for yourself how amazing this peanut butter is! Try some of these ways to contact them:

I hate peanut butter and my youngest son who has a tongue thrust doesn't like it either. But the other boys have their own containers! LOL - however, cinnamon is a taste they develop toward the end of high school - sounds really good though!

I'm going to Whole Foods today, and I want to see if they have this brand!! I adore natural peanut butter and I often snack on it plain - I'd enjoy all these flavors - whether plain or on a cracker, etc. !!!!!
