Katz Gluten Free Bakery Review & Giveaway **Closed**

I don't know how many of you have heard of or tried Katz Gluten Free Bakery but it is by far one of the best gluten free bakeries out there! I have been very fortunate that at the beginning of the year I won a few products from them and got to try two different products and was thrilled when they agreed to let me do a review of some of their newer products that they have added since then. Here is what Katz Gluten Free Bakery sent me:

1. Cinnamon Strip Cake
2. Marble Cake
3. Cinnamon Rugelech
4. Vanilla Rugelech

One thing I need to make clear is that as soon as you get these products they need to go in the freezer. They are gluten free, preservative free so they need to be frozen at all times until you are ready to eat them. I will let you in on a little secret of mine: I actually love my rugelech frozen! You heard me, I don't heat them up in the microwave, but rather eat them straight from the freezer! It is like a frozen treat to me. The Chocolate Rugelech works best for this but the Vanilla and Cinnamon were pretty darn good, too! Mike, my husband, of course, likes his heated up and they taste good that way also but for some reason I ate the Rugelech frozen and have enjoyed it that way ever since.

The Cinnamon Rugelech was so good! I am towards Cinnamon the same way I am to Lavender lotion and candles, it is my absolute favorite food spice and I love just about anything that has cinnamon in it. So when Katz announced they had a Cinnamon Rugelech I was over the moon! When you eat the Rugelech straight from the freezer it is crispy, mouth watering good and you don't waste time heating it!

Oh, by the way, you can find products for all types of allergies to food at Katz Gluten Free Bakery such as dairy free, egg free, corn free, sugar free, rice free, soy free and Corn Free Contains Xanthan Gum (Not From China). Check out this page for those allergies.

Oh, my and the Vanilla Rugelech was so good! If you like Vanilla, you are going to absolutely love this one! Gosh, they taste so good you will wonder if it really is gluten free because it tastes so decadent!

I can tell you another way that both of these rugelech's tasted good and that was with a few spoons of vanilla bean ice cream topped on them!

I would also recommend drizzling a little chocolate syrup over them and see how wonderful they really are! Or you might enjoy putting a little whipped cream on them. Doesn't matter because all of them taste sinfully good! Each piece is just the right size, not too big that if you are watching your weight, they have made them compact and small. They taste light and airy if you let them unthaw before eating. Just however you wish to experience your Katz food is all that matters. We all have different tastes in things and that is a good thing because if we didn't we would be very boring!

Next we tried the Cinnamon Strip Cake and what a pleasure that turned out to be. The Cinnamon Strip Cake comes in a loaf form and you can cut it just like a slice of bread. As I stated earlier, Mike loves all his deserts warmed up in the microwave and on the cakes, I decided to follow his lead. Cakes are meant to be eaten nice and warm!

We are cinnamon freaks so there is nothing bad I can say about the Cinnamon Strip Cake. Sorta like a cinnamon bun but with no icing. If you can only eat gluten free products then you will love Katz Gluten Free Bakery. They have somehow managed to make great snacks and deserts that still taste decadent!

The Marble Cake was another great treat that we loved and if you like deserts or cakes that don't have a sweet taste to them then this is the cake for you! It is a very moist cake (heat up after taking from freezer or let it unthaw if you prefer) once it has unthawed and you would never be able to tell it had been frozen. I know we all have had deserts that had that frozen taste to them but not these products! Katz Gluten Free Bakery has found a way to do the impossible, deliver great tasting, fresh and gluten free snacks and deserts that can be frozen until needed.

The Marble Cake would make a great breakfast treat to have on the go if you are pressed for time. One of the many benefits from not being sweet tasting! Grab a slice and take with you and by break time at work it will be unthawed and ready to eat!

Here is a little About Us that I found on their site:
Katz Gluten Free Bake Shoppe was established in early 2006 by F. Katz, with not much more than a home model kitchen mixer, some thoroughly tested recipes, and an unyielding quest for perfection. As word of our famously delicious confections rapidly spread, so did our base of operations.

Today, Katz Gluten Free operates out of a state-of-the-art facility, which has been Certified Gluten-Free by the Gluten Intolerance Group® ( , for our unmatched reliability in complying with strict gluten-free standards. Our facility is completely nut-free and dairy-free. All of our products are certified Kosher, and are under the stringent supervision of the OU and Rabbi Y. Gruber.

As the mother of two children who are gluten intolerant, Mrs. Katz knows firsthand the hardships and daily struggles parents endure in their attempts to maintain a thoroughly gluten-free diet for their kids. She knows - as only a parent could - that the only way to minimize and avoid temptation, is by offering a variety of products that are rich in flavor, texture, and taste. That is why she constantly strives to concoct recipes that are as luscious as they are healthy.

We feature an extensive, ever-expanding selection of products, to meet the culinary demands of every gluten-intolerant individual. Our products consist only of pure, all natural high-quality and fresh ingredients, with no preservatives added, and are thoroughly taste-tested to ensure absolute goodness in every bite.

At Katz Gluten Free, we are truly passionate about our products and we hope that so are you. Our entire staff is committed to earning your satisfaction. We therefore welcome and anticipate your comments and suggestions. It is, after all, your input and feedback that have helped us achieve our goal of creating the most sought-after baked goods in the gluten-free market.
