SMM Makeup & Skin Care Review

I was very fortunate to be able to review this company, SMM Makeup & Skin Care. They were very generous with sending me several shades of foundation and concealer to make sure that I got the right one and would be pleased with the results of the makeup once I applied it.

They sent the following for me to play with:

1. Light Foundation
2. Medium Foundation
3. Tan Foundation
4. Multi Tasking Concealer
5. Medium Concealer
6. Vision Blush
7. Joy Blush
8. Be Flawless Veil
9. Halo Glow
10. Kabuki Brush

I knew immediately without having to play around too much that the Light Foundation, Multi Tasking Concealer and the Joy Blush would be what I used in conjunction with the Be Flawless Veil and Halo Glow.

Before I got these products I had no idea there was anything called a Veil or a Glow and did not know what they were suppose to do but once I caught on I thought to myself, where have these products been my whole life? I really could have used them when I was single and maybe I would have had more dates!! Ha! Just kidding!

You always start with a clean moisturized face and I use a primer also to smooth out the pores and fill in the gaps before I used the Multi Tasking Concealer lightly going under my eyes to help with the discoloration I have under my eyes. I then put the foundation on with the Kubuki brush.

One thing I did learn from this company is you can skip the Foundation part if you think the Concealer did a pretty good job of making you look normal! Well, next time I am going to try that but that was further down on the directions so I already had the foundation on and wasn't about to take it all off and start over!

You can also use this Multi Tasking Concealer after putting on the foundation, too. Just what works best for you is all that matters.

For the blush I used Joy because it had some color but was lighter than the other one. And I am so glad I did because it came out really good and I have always had a hard time finding a blush that works for me. Since these are heavier pigments go very lightly on the blush because it does not take much. And you don't want to look like a painted doll, that's for sure!

Now, here is where the next two products come into play. I never knew about these and I just bet this is what some of those actress's wear to make their faces look good, too!

I had chose the Be Flawless Veil. The job that Veils are suppose to do is give your makeup a flawless finish. Apply this with the Kabuki brush or a powder brush if you don't have one. Then this is where the Glows come into play. They go on at the very last after everything else has been put on. It adds a youthful luminosity to your skin.

You can also wear them alone without any foundation to get a healthy beautiful glow. I don't use bronzers on top of blushes so here is where I veered of the plan but if you do then apply the bronzer on top of the Veil anywhere you want it to go to give you a gorgeous look.

I hope you can tell from this picture that the white looking jar on the left is the Be Flawless Veil and the other whitish yellow jar on the right side is the Halo Glow.

The Joy Blush is the first jar on the top left. These were fun and easy to work with and I really ran into no problems with any of the samples.

I did not ask for any eye shadows as I have so many now and I hardly wear it anymore so I did not want them to needlessly send out their product and then I let it set until I have to throw it away. I also did the same for the lip products. Gosh, I have tons of lipsticks, glosses and lip pencils. I have to go thru them quite often and give them away so they won't ruin.

The only thing I do regret is that I did not know they carried a skin care line. They have a retinol roll on I would die to try along with the Vitamin C Repair Serum. I am a firm believer in Vitamin C for the skin and I am just about low so that would have been wonderful. Maybe in another few months they will want me to review some of the Skin Care Products and I can tell you all about that!

They also have a clay mask which I have plenty of but just wanted to let you know they have so much more stuff than just the mineral makeup. Oh, they also carry Emu Oil which I am beginning to see popping up all over the place and I have read that it is really great for your skin. So you really need to check out SMM Makeup and see all the wonderful goodies they have online.

One thing you do need to keep in mind that once you get your order and open the products they cannot accept returns due to health regulations. So try to be as sure as you can about your colors and if they look like they won't work I would not open them so that you can return them for the right shade. One other interesting thing I found on their site is they offer a tattoo cream!

Not too sure why you need a special cream for tattoo's but it is nice to know if you have someone who has them and might need some tattoo cream!!!

I am going to quote directly from their site about the minerals that are found in their products:

Our minerals are made with all top quality ingredients. All natural. Excellent coverage. Natural SPF protection. Completely weightless. Affordable. Easy to use. A little goes a long way, saving you money. Perfect for all skin types and skin tones.

Our minerals DO NOT contain any type of oils, dyes, perfumes, or fillers. No parabens, nanos, gluten or soy. We do not use bismuth oxychloride so they are non-irritating, even to sensitive skin. Non-comedogenic. Excellent coverage. Perfect for sensitive skin. A little goes a long way saving you money. Refills available keeping the earth green.

Our minerals are like no other minerals on earth. You can spend more money, but you cannot get better, more natural makeup than SMM (Smoky Mountain Minerals) makeup and skin care.

I am sorry but there will not be any history lesson because they did not have anyplace on their site for me to learn anything about the company or the people who started it. Which is really okay. Some people are private and don't think others have the right to know about them and I can understand that. I am a little quirky about history and would have loved to know where they are located and how they started but really in the end all that matters is they have great makeup and I would recommend them to my friends and to you, my readers.
